Quarantine Classroom Update

A month and a half of lock down. As a school we have been really lucky. We haven’t had to be in school every day for the children of key workers.

Everyday I have posted work on my class webpage for children to complete, we have also been working on admin tasks such as redesigning the curriculum.

This Monday, I was in school ensuring provision for the child of a key worker. It was the first time I had been in school for a month and it was the first workday since Boris Johnson had said he intended to re-open schools. My class looked eerily similar to how I had left it.

It was a strange mix of emotions, teaching a mixed year group means that I will teach some children for two years. It is hard knowing that the relationships with some pupils was cut short, we never completed some of the fun activities we had planned. As always we have to look to the future.

With that - I was ruthless. I decided to take down all my displays and start to create something special for next year. If I can’t complete this year as I intended, I can make sure I spend this time making sure next year is the best it can possibly be for the little people that come through my classroom door.

You can see what I got up to in my class here.
