010 - How to stop procrastinating

Hi,

It has been an incredibly busy week. I will leave you with a short thought that has helped me through this half term. It is a simple rule by James Clear.

 The 2 minute rule

It can be broken down into two parts

  1. If a task takes less than two minutes, then do it now - We put off so many things that can be done straight away that they end up accumulating into bigger tasks. If a job is small and quick to complete, do it straight away to prevent a compounding of work.

  2. Break down new habits into smaller more manageable chunks so that you are more likely to complete them. ‘The two-minute rule is effective because once you start doing the right thing, it becomes much easier to continue doing it.’ 1
